Hi, have been perusing a couple of internet sites as i have an incubator and have been hatching a couple of eggs here and there for interest. I have a road island red rooster, a couple of isa brown and some frizzle x . I do not know how to sex the chickens and it is quite frustrating as i have been raising roosters as nicely as hens of course and only genuinely want to feed and care for the hens so to begin to sell them. I have been reading right here and there how when crossing particular breeds iit is attainable to colour sex the chicks. Also there is some thing about crossing breeds so chicks can be sexed by the wing feathers a day old or so. I am questioning what i could cross with my road island rooster to accomplish any of there two outcomes…. Can you shed any ideas on this for me.
MEG: IT IS Achievable TO MATE A RIR ROOSTER WITH A Correct WHITE LEGHORN TO GET RED HENS AND WHITE ROOSTERS.. BUT THE WHITE Have to BE GENETICALLY PURE. IT IS ALSO Achievable TO MATE A Difficult FEATHERED BREED TO A SOFT FEATHERED BREED TO Create OPPOSITE SEX CHICKS THAT CAN BE FEATHER SEXED AT A DAY OLD. Nonetheless, I AM NOT Confident OF THE Details.
